I have been wundering, if I should implement Kunena to my JomSocial site, but I'm not sure what Kunena can give, that I'm not allready can do in JomSocial?
Would anyboby give me there reasons, why they have implementet Kunena?
Gregory O'ConnorI use Jomsocial and Kunena in a site now because in 09 when I started, Group discussions were not robust. but what i find is members dont need all the tools of a big forum. there was a component called JS-Kunena that made Kunena categories appear in each group that you assigned in admin but that no longer works. I am updating the site to j3.0 and am thinking of just using Group discussions...I use Jomsocial and Kunena in a site now because in 09 when I started, Group discussions were not robust. but what i find is members dont need all the tools of a big forum. there was a component called JS-Kunena that made Kunena categories appear in each group that you assigned in admin but that no longer works. I am updating the site to j3.0 and am thinking of just using Group discussions because it may get confusing. I find that the social end needs less search tools for users. But I may use some sort of Wiki or simple searchable question and answer forum. heavy forums seem to be going away to these tools. Stackideas has 'easy discuss' but last time I used that it was new and buggy. If your site is technical like about car repair or Gardening, I would think you need a Kunena forum but for social sites like my camping club group discussions may be all I need.
